Goodwin Returns for 2020
4th Jul 2019
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are excited to announce the signing of experienced outside back Bryson Goodwin for the 2020 season, with Goodwin returning to the Club with which he played five seasons, including the 2014 NRL Premiership-winning year. Goodwin, 33, has played 225 first grade games during stints with South Sydney, the Bulldogs and the Sharks in the NRL, as well as the Warrington Wolves in the English Super League. Goodwin, who is Rabbitohs first grade player number 1093, played 99 NRL games for the Rabbitohs before departing for England at the end of the 2017 season. He has also represented New Zealand in ten Tests.
Rabbitohs General Manager of Football, Shane Richardson, says Goodwin will be a welcome addition to the backline stocks at South Sydney next year. “Bryson is one of those players that you know will give 100% effort every time he takes the field,” Mr Richardson said. “He has given a lot to this Club over the five years he was with us previously, and his form has been excellent over the past two years since he moved to Warrington.”
Goodwin is looking forward to coming home. “I felt that this was a really good opportunity, we put all the pieces together and my family and I felt that this is the right decision and the right time to come home,” Goodwin said. (South Sydney) are going really well at the moment and hopefully next year we can do well too. I’m really looking forward to (heading back to Souths)”
