Play was of an even character in the first half. The game at times being fast. South Sydney eventually secured an opening, and working the ball into Glebe's quarter Fry suceeded in kicking a fieldgoal. South Sydney 2 point. Glebe nil. Shortly after Fry was again auccessful in putting the leather between the uprights from a fieldgoal. South Sydney 4 points, Glebe nil. Fry added another fieldgoal and Golden scored a try for South Sydney. At half-time the scores were 9 points to nil in favour of South Sydney. In the second half tries were scored for South Sydney by Fletcher, Brown and Wiley, one being converted by Fry. Priestly scored at try for Glebe. At full-time the scores were: South Sydney 20 points; Glebe 3.

Played before the midweek Metropolis verses Queensland match. This match was very evenly contested, though neither team showed exceptional brilliancy. Up to half-time no points were scored by either side. In the second half South Sydney Juniors did most of the attacking and were on their opponents line for the greater part of the half. Balmain's forwards occassionally got the ball into their opponents 25, but their efforts were nullified by fulty handling of their backs. Towards the close of the game South Sydney's forwards took the ball into their opponents 25, where Hinsley picking up, transferred to Smith, who raced over the line and scored. Butler failed to add the extras. the final scores were - South Sydney 3; Balmain nil.
