WIN 37-0
South Sydney and Glebe were the second first grade trial match. But Glebe could make no headway against the winners of the past two seasons medals, and had to take their gruel to the extent of 37 to nil. Notwithstanding the huge score piled up against them they did notlose heart, and fought it out to the end. Fry was the heroof the day, so far as actual scoring was concerned, getting three tries, while Conlin (captain), Pearce, Hallett, Anderson, Dawson and H.Butler each secured one. Hallett was playing fullback, and raised the crowdwith his effort working through from near half-way. Conlin 2, Levison, Hallett and Jones were the goal-kickers. Darmody, a junior, turned out with South Sydney, and was one of the best on the field.
Souths promise to be very strong this season. McCabe, the two Burges, Storie, and Ross did not don the jersey, but are expected to put in some good work later on.
