Cann, Gilbert and Hallett Kangaroo Tour selections

A 23 man squad was selected for the 6 month Kangaroo tour of England. Congratulations to Bill Cann, Herb Gilbert and Howard Hllett on their Kangaroo tour selections. The team will depart on August 5 abord the steamship RMS Orvicto.
Darmody Joins Kangaroo Tour party

After a number of players pulled out of the Kangaroo touring party, including Messenger, and S.Pearce. Young winger come forward Steve Darmody has been called up to join the touring party.South Sydney entertained the team prior to departure at the Crown Picture Palace in Surry Hills. It was crowded, where the general public were given the opportunity of saying au revoir to the South Sydney players who have been selected to tour England with the Australasian team. During the evening Mr Hoyle MLA president of the South Sydney Club presented the players chosen to go to England, with a cheque for a substantial amount.
Mr "Johnny" McGrath, treasurer of the club, who is going along with the team as a visitor. Darmody, Gilbert, Hallett and Cann were congratulated on all sides and were given three rousing cheers before they left the hall.
