The South Sydney team is pleased to announce the following team for the round 1 knockout match against Balmain at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday Apr 20 kickoff 3:55pm Once again in 1940 a carnival style atmosphere the NSWRL will open the season with all clubs playing at the SCG. Prior to the commencemnt of the football, all first grade teams will enter the SCG arena carrying club pennants, followed by a rendition of "Advance Australia Fair". At the conclusion 36 footballs will be kicked into air. Matches will be played in two 15 minute halves.
