South Sydney yesterday named a line-up of internationals and seasoned campaigners for the Charity Shield, Rabbitohs side which will, for the first time, include high-profile recruits Roy Asotasi, David Kidwell and Nigel Vagana. Nathan Merritt (neck), Beau Champion (eye surgery, round one) and Yileen Gordon (ankle, round two) were missing. Joe Williams was named halfback, with Parramatta recruit Jeremy Smith on a 10-man bench. Souths coach Jason Taylor said he was hesitant to give Smith extended time following pre-season knee surgery. "It's our last chance to get some confidence, to get some combinations," Taylor said. "It's important for us." The South Sydney Rabbitohs line up for the 2007 Charity Shield against the St George-Illawarra at the Stadium Australia this Saturday 3rd March with kick off at 8:00pm.
