Alan Wilson Appointed NYC Coach
18th September 2007
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce that Alan Wilson has accepted the position of National under 20s coach for the 2008 season. Alan is currently the Technical Advisor at St Helens in the UK Super League, working with Head Coach Daniel Anderson to take the Saints to the current position of UK Super League champions, World Club champions and Challenge Cup holders. This follows a successful 113 NRL-game career with the Cronulla Sharks, North Sydney Bears and the St George Dragons including two appearances for NSW, as well as stints with Huddersfield and Bradford Northern in the UK. Wilson then worked in coaching roles with the North Sydney Bears and the Parramatta Eels before working with the NRL as the game’s Community Relations Manager. Alan was the driving force behind the NRL’s marketing campaign ‘That’s My Team’. “We’re delighted to have Alan joining our coaching staff. He will be responsible for guiding some of the brightest young stars that our Club and the game has to offer,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said. “Alan is an established coach of young men and he has an excellent track record in both Australia and England. We look forward to having someone of his experience and his expertise working in conjunction with the likes of Jason Taylor, Mark Ellison and Errol Alcott in our coaching ranks next season.”
