Matt Mundine Signs
6th October 2008
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced the signing of back-rower Matt Mundine for the 2009 and 2010 seasons today. Mundine, 18, was named in the NRL’s Toyota Cup Team of the Year in 2008, helping to guide the Dragons to the preliminary finals in the National Youth Competition. Mundine also finished in the top three in the Toyota Cup Dally M Player of the Year count for the Centenary season. Mundine, who stands 183cm tall and weighs in at 112kg, was the stand out player for the Dragons this season, and will be a welcome addition to the Rabbitohs squad in 2009. “Matt has played some exciting football in 2008 and we’re looking forward to having him join our squad for the next two seasons,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said. “He has all the skills and he has a good attitude towards his football. He played mainly at lock for the Dragons however we believe he can play anywhere in the forward pack and has the skills to play five-eighth.
