Season is finally here and what a way to start, by having such a important event as the 200th game verses our arch rivals Easts. It will see Sam Burgess make his NRL debut which will be worth price of admission alone.
Shane Corrigan has had a complication to his knee recovery and will be out for extended period while he recovers. Crocker is still out with talk of a return in round 5.
What a great weekend for our junior ranks. We played powerhouse Penrith and came away with two wins. This means that Matts are now 4 from 4 and have almost qualified for the semi's. In Ball it was great come from behind win that showed character that hipefully will launch them into the semi's. There are 5 more rounds to go.
Souths membership is a fantastic levels. We passed 10,000 season ticket holders to be joint winners of the NRL race to 10,000 announced at the Charity Shield. Today we passed 11,000 season ticket holders (#2 behind the Broncos 12,900+) and have over 17,500 members (#1 in the NRL). Achieving our objectives for 2010 just days before season kickoff. Congratulation to our members and the SSFC Membership team. We still have a way to go to be the #1 club for membership in Sydney with the Swans having over 26,000 members. But we are catching up.
