Rabbitohs centre Beau Champion has been called into the Indigenous All Stars side for next weekend’s Rugby League All Stars match. Champion will replace injured Melbourne Storm star Greg Inglis in the side who has succumbed to a hip injury. Champion will join Nathan Merritt in the Indigenous All Stars team.
Rabbitohs forward David Taylor has been ruled out of the Rugby League All Stars match on Saturday 13 February. Taylor injured his ankle at training during the week, with diagnostic scans indicating he should miss the match this Sunday plus the All Stars fixture.
Rabbitohs recruit Sam Burgess has been called into the NRL All Stars side to replace Souths Sydney representative Dave Taylor in the NRL All Stars team. The NRL All Stars dropped the selection shock after losing another English Test forward Gareth Ellis, Rabbitohs giant David Taylor and Canberra’s Alan Tongue. Burgess, the most talked about English recruit to enter the NRL, will join the squad after playing his first Australian game for the Rabbitohs at the Australian Technology Park Performance Centre at Redfern Oval this Sunday. Showing the strength of the All Stars line-up, two more Australian Test players, Wests Tigers Robbie Farah and Canberra’s David Shillington, have also been called into the squad to play the Indigenous All Stars next Saturday. Burgess will come up against team mates Nathan Merritt and Beau Champion who have been selected for the Indigenous All Stars side in the historic match. Congratulations to Sam Burgess on his selection in the NRL All Stars side.
