Highest For and Against
Another great win with Morgan and Peats making the debut both havin ga big part in tries. We are the top point scoring team of the comp with Nathan Merritt the leading try scorer. It was a great game that showed that we also have a strong attacking right side. But we also have the worst defence after 4 rounds. With the final flurry of 16 points against, we defence as well as attack to make the semi's.
Farrell Hattrick
Dylan Farrell bagged another hattrick of tries and formed a great combination in attack with Morgan. This will balance our left side and cause NRL teams plenty of headaches.
Ha'angana and Roberts show
At U20's level Ha'angana and Roberts continue to steal the show. You will hear more about these two in years to come.
Scrums
Scrums are on the improve now that referees are penalising teams for not packing in properly. It's a step in the right direction, now all they need to do is allow teams to push and put scrums back at 10m from the sideline so that we get long wide passing movements.
Round 4 - Stat Attack
Another great win but a nail biter in the end. Low error count 8 and low penalty count 3 was big factor in our win this week. Missed tackles crept up to 34 mainly during the final 10 min period of the second half.
What made the win look so good was the effective 1st tackles during the 1st half at 22.1m and in the 15 min period in teh second half when we scored all our tries. Two dropped balls early in the second half invited Manly back into the game early and a run of 3 penalties did so again late in teh game.
Our right side defence of Tyrrell-Sandow-Farrell-Morgan made 14(4-6-2-2) misses between them and throw in 4 dropped balls contributed to Manly staying in the game.
Our forwards weren't as dominate this week with only Ross cracking 109m in his short 33 min on the field. Best forward statistically was Luke Stuart once again averaging 9.1m per hit up and no missed tackles. While Crocker and Asotasi topped the tackles counts.
