The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce that young centre Dylan Farrell has extended his playing contract with the Club until the end of the 2013 season. Farrell, 19, earned himself a spot in the Rabbitohs first grade backline in August 2010, after a stunning debut which saw him score a hat trick of tries against the Tigers. His ongoing performances last season and consistent training efforts since has seen the Rabbitohs move to secure his services for a further two years. Farrell is thrilled to be extending his tenure with the Rabbitohs. “I’m really happy that I’ll be at the Rabbitohs for at least the next two seasons,” Farrell said today. “I love playing for Souths, the support from the Club and its Members is first class, and I want to continue to develop and play my best football for the Club. “I’ve looked up to some of the senior players such as Rhys Wesser, Greg Inglis and John Sutton and to get to play alongside them in the red and green is fantastic.” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson could not be happier about securing Farrell’s signature for a further two seasons. “Dylan has been with us since he was 16 and we’ve seen him develop into a first grade footballer at a very young age,” Mr Richardson said. “He has a mature head on his shoulders and we’re sure he will reach the highest levels in the game. “The signing of both Dylan and Issac Luke yesterday have been big priorities for the Club and we’re looking forward to seeing them flourish with South Sydney over the coming seasons.”
