While Souths were on a off and back on again during teh match GI and Taylor were outstanding in backing up 2 days after SOO. The win takes Souths winning run to 4 games.
Congratulations to GI who has establish a SOO try scoring record in SOO I with his 13th try.
James Roberts and Adrian Ha'angana are making the most of their promotion to reserve grade.
The ARLC really needs to look at the draw and give supporters who need to travel 2-3h a better deal on Friday or Monday night games. It was impossible for Canberra fans to make the match on Friday night with their work and school commitments.
When Souths had the ball they looked extremely good and ahd two period 2-30 min and 50-60 min marl where the blitzed Canberra. However at other stages of the game their ability to stop teh offload was poor. Effective 1st tackles were slightly down to 32.5m and handling errors crept up and completions drooped this week.
Looking at our left side defence - Hunt-Farrell-Sutton-SBurgess (1-3-3-3) was dropped to 10 missed tackles between them. On the right side Merritt-Everingham-Reynolds-Taylor (1-2-1-1) dropped to 5 missed tackles between them.
On the positive side Luke, Sam Burgess and Taylor all cracked 100+m. With Luke causing havoc with his dummy half running. Defensively S.Burgess, Crocker and Lowe was our best in the tackling raking up 23 tackles. With Luke Burgess, Crocker, Geddes and Pettybourne not missing a tackle.
