What a great win over hoodoo team Melbourne. It was a powerful forwards display that layed the platform. We are back to where we were 12 months ago one win away from the Grand Final.
Again Sam lead from the front leading our forwards in a dominate display.
Congratulations to Jason Clark who was named as NSW Cup(Reserve Grade) player of the year at the NSWRL awarads.
Another narrow loss, but this time it means a end to our 2013 U20s campaign. A lot of names we hope to see in the future
The new Top 8 format is turning out to be a much better for all teams and fans. Team who are leaders are getting rewarded with multiple home semi-finals compared to the old (1v8,2v7,3v6,4v5) format. Congratulations to the NRL on making this adjustment.
Statistically it was a much better game as we reduced our errors and controlled the match. Completion rates improved to a very good 89% from 66% last week. Our best all season. With errors decreasing to 6 from 13 and penalties conceeded increasing to 7 from 5 last week. Souths Effective 1st tackle for the match improved but still in a poor level of 35.2m from 36.3m last week. And missed tackles improved to a poor level of 27 missed tackles from 35 last week. With opposition offloads to dropped to 10 after allowing 9 last week.
Looking at our left side defence - Merritt-Goodwin-Sutton-SBurgess/McQueen (2-4-1-5) dropped to 12 from 8 missed tackles last week. On the right side Farrell-Walker-Reynolds-Teo (0-4-1-2) dropped to 7 from 4 missed tackles last week.
Our go forward was steady at 1281m this week. With Clark making 10+m per run. With Sam Burgess, George Burgess, Lima, Farrell and Inglis making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Luke was our best in the tackling raking up 39 tackles. With Tyrrell, Asotasi and Farrell not missing a tackle.
