The South Sydney Rabbitohs are very pleased to announce the re-signings of Luke Burgess, Chris McQueen and Kyle Turner for a further two years, keeping them at the Club until at least the end of the 2015 season. Burgess, 26, has played over 100 first grade games in the NRL and English Super League, playing in 28 games for the Rabbitohs since joining the Club midway through the 2011 season. He also earned selection in the England national squad for their end-of-season international matches in 2012. McQueen, 25, has almost 50 NRL matches under his belt at the start of the 2013 NRL season, and was a member of the Queensland Emerging State of Origin squad this pre-season. Turner, 21, has risen through the ranks of the National Youth Competition to earn a full time contract with the Rabbitohs in 2013, having played in the Club’s NRL trials this pre-season. Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire says he is pleased with the progression of these players over the past year. “All three of these guys have been part of what we’re building at the Club, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with them at the Rabbitohs,” Coach Maguire said. “Both Luke and Chris have become seasoned first graders in our team, and Kyle has been developing in our junior ranks and has a shot at playing first grade this year. “They’re all valuable members of the squad and good people, and we’re glad that we can reward them for their hard work and dedication with contract extensions.”
