The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to confirm the contract extension of under 20s captain Cameron McInnes until the end of 2015. McInnes, a South Sydney junior from the Botany Rams Club, captained the Rabbitohs’ under 20s outfit to a finals appearance in 2013, despite being a 19-year-old in an under 20s squad. McInnes played in all 25 games for the Rabbitohs’ Holden Cup side this year at hooker, scoring 12 tries and kicking 15 goals throughout the season. McInnes was also named in the 2013 Holden Cup Team of the Year. Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is keen to work closely with Cameron over the next two seasons. “Cameron has been one of our stand out players in the under 20s side this year, and he knows that with continued hard work and dedication to his role, he gives himself the best chance to make it into the first grade squad in the coming years. “His efforts were recognised with his selection in the Holden Cup Team of the Year and we’re looking forward to working more closely with him to develop his game and progress him towards an NRL berth.”
