Its been 8 weeks but the SOO disruption to the season is finally over. Souths faired pretty well during this period compared to other clubs winning 4 games and losing 2 with 2 byes. This placed them min 3rd position behind the Warriors and Panthers during the last 8 rounds. But it was obvious that the players dropped their guard between the two byes when we lost our two games. Thats been 4 weeks without a win.
Lote Tuqiri has been improving after his return from Rugby with his best game in a while against the Titans after switching to the right wing.
Congratulations to Curtis Johnston who has now moved to outright try scoring leader for all grades for Souths/Norths partnership with 13 tries after bagging 3 tries on the weekend.
What a week up in Darwin. Tevita Cottrell continues to impress taking out the player of the tournament and winning selection selection along with John Olive and Nat Butcher in teh end of season Australian Schoolboys tour of ENgland.
Sitting back during the week and enjoyed watching the U18 Commonwealth Games 9's tournament in Glasgow, Scotland. It was a great development day for all countries involved. PNG were the surprise winners with a great showing from Canada and Scotland who made the semi-finals. Rugby League needs these international develop programs added to their calendar and the U18's is a clear must have going forward.
Signing off for another week - the midweek Cyber View from the Hill
