Rabbitohs Greg Inglis and Sam Burgess have today (Friday) been named in rugby league’s World XIII, both joining some of the greatest names in the game in the exclusive list. Despite being hampered by injury in the back end of the 2013 NRL season, Greg Inglis’ performances at club, Origin and international level – including an outstanding World Cup campaign with Australia – was enough to cement the Rabbitoh a place in the centres alongside Manly’s Jamie Lyon. Inglis was one of nine Australian’s named in the team. Englishman, Sam Burgess, was named at prop alongside fellow countryman James Graham in the team, after another barnstorming season in the red and green, and a World Cup campaign that saw the big man produce some of the best football of his career. Burgess was also a contender for the coveted Golden Boot award. The boot was eventually taken by Cowboys, Queensland and Australian five-eighth, Jonathan Thurston after another stellar season in 2013.
