3rd June 2015
It was a hot day in the sun at Robina but Souths came away with another win. Our second without Adam Reynolds and a vital 2 competition points while we work towards qualifying for the finals. We are still 6 wins away from qualifying for the finals in 2015 but now we are winning again.
Grevo is making a name for himself in the NRL this season with his barnstorming runs. The two crash bvall tries were great to watch and helped setup this victory.
22 nil behind after 30 min is usually the end for most teams. But a inspired display by Cody Walker saw the Bears claw their way back into the game and with 3 minutes on the clock Jesse Roberts crashed over for the winning try.
Jordie Hedges is making a name for himself as great goalkicker. He landed goalkicks from everywhere in the U20s game with 3 beauties from the sideline.
Well this week ended the famous Round 13 rule that was used as a negotiation tool by Dale Cheyy-Evans and his management and even the Manly club. The soap opera that fans had to endure for 4 months was crazy and congratulations to the NRL to sort this mess out so that negotiations don't drag on as they did.
Statistically Round 12 stats dropped from from the last few weeks. Completion rates dropped to 80% this week. Errors increased to 11 from 8 last week. We gave away 6 penalities this week compared to 4 last week. Souths Effective 1st tackle dropped to 31.1m this week from 28.4m last week. Our missed tackles dropped to 12 missed tackles from 9 last week, but still very good. But opposition offloads increased to 12 this week from 2 last week.
Looking at our left side defence - AGray-Goodwin-Sutton-Brown (3-1-1-1) dropped this week to 6 from 3 missed tackles last week. On the right side Johnston-DWalker-Keary-McQueen/Grevsmuhl (0-0-1-0) was great at 1 missed tackle this week from 4 last week.
Our go forward was dropped this week to 1445m this week. George Burgess, Inglis, Goodwin and Keary lead the way in making 10+m per hitup. With Tom Burgess, George Burgess, Goodwin and Inglis making more that 100+m in the match. Defensively Luke was our best in the tackling raking up 29 tackles. With Tyrrell, McQueen, Clark, McInnes, Grant, Grevsmuhl, Inglis, Dylan Walker and Johnston not missing a tackle.
