McQueen Released for 2016
11th December 2015
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have today agreed to release forward, Chris McQueen, from the final year of his Rabbitohs playing contract, allowing him the opportunity to further his NRL career at another club. McQueen, who has played 116 first grade games for the Rabbitohs, made his debut for the Club as a back in 2009, before shifting to the forwards where he gained selection for Queensland as a back-rower in 2013. Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, thanked the 28 year old for his years of service to the Club and the team. “Chris has been a valued member of this team for many years now and has brought a lot to us both on and off the field,” said Maguire. “He has evolved as a player from being a winger or centre to being a solid forward who managed to gain representative selection as well as playing a key role in our 2014 Premiership victory. “He now has the opportunity to secure his long-term playing future elsewhere and we understand that desire. I wish Chris all the very best “ The Rabbitohs would like to thank Chris for his service to the Club and wish him the best in his career moving forward.
