With the representative weekend upon us it is a good change for many players to have a break and rest up on injuries. But this week we come up against a angry and desperate Parramatta who have just been stripped of 12 points and they were forced to let go former Souths player Nathan Peats. As a result that can start playing for points. And we can expect a hostile reception. Still 10 more wins out of 15 games to qualify for the finals.
What a great debut by Aaron Gray who scored 4 tries in his senior representative debut. This is the best debut since 1952 when Ian Moir made his senior representative debut over 50 years ago. But then came the news that he has injured his knee once again and will be out for 4 weeks.
After a great start Langi hurt his other leg and will miss the rest of season.
Hot on the heals of Guler and Murray, fullback Dylan O'Connor will make his U20's debut this week
It has emerged that the Pacific Test nation players are not getting paid for the national appearances, while the ARLC are getting the broadcast money. On the weekend Foxtel TV audiances for the Pacific Test were equal to a NRL timesloted match. So why doesn't the ARLC/NRL provide Samoa, PNG, Fiji and Tongan RL money equivalent to 50% share of a Foxtel NRL match broadcast right payment so they can pay players. This international RL attrocity needs to be fixed. This just under around $800k per match the ARLC make under the current deal, which doubles from 2018.
