Kennar Signs for 2018-19
18th October 2017
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce the signing of outside back Richard Kennar for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Kennar, 22, has played nine NRL games since making his debut for the Melbourne Storm in 2015, then going on to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for the 2017 season. An Australian Schoolboys and NSW under 18s and 16s representative, the Samoan born Kennar is equally adept at playing wing or centre.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Anthony Seibold is pleased to have Kennar joining the squad for the upcoming pre-season. “I’ve worked with Richie previously, spending three years with him at the Melbourne Storm, watching him debut as a 19-year-old,” Coach Seibold said. “He will add depth to our outside backs but we think he can challenge for a wing spot in our NRL backline. “He’s a big, explosive ball carrier and this is a big pre-season coming up for Richie. “He needs to work hard and put in the effort required and if he does that then he can certainly put himself in the reckoning for a wing position in our NRL side.”
