Clunky Brisbane Outing
In a scene that will haunt Cody Walker and Rabbitohs fans, another intercept try, just like in last year Grand Final proved to be the difference in the end. Souths defence was sound, but our attack was clunky as the team struggled to find any rythm in attack after the late withdrawal of Taaffe at the back. It is lookig like it will take a few weeks for our new spine to get develop combinations and trust, but with the return of Mitchell it will help significantly. Now for a trip to Melbourne to try and break the hoodoo.
Havili makes a impression
Silva Havili made a instant impression coming on from the bench. His power running added some much needed go forward and power off the bench. As he also plays a very good hooking role, he will add a lot of versitility in his forward utility value. Looking forward to him getting used to playing the team.
Tobin Double
One player who stood out in U21s was a young fullback Jake Tobin. The local product from Coogee-Randwick has got his opportunity this year and made a immediate impact scoring two tries in his elusive running style. I look forward to see how he progresses.
Kalo Kalo hattrick
After almost two years of no football through covid and injury, Terrell Kalo Kalo finally got onto the field in a full game fully fit. He had a immediate impact lifting our U19 team to their first win of the season when the scored a hattrick. He will get a few games in U19 as he returns to match fitness before he moves into the senior ranks.
NRLW Rabbitohs want in
The NRL has announced that they will expand the NRLW to ten teams over the coming 2 seasons, as the Rabbitohs have put their hand up wanting to join. There was heartbreak when 2018 minor premiers were excluded along with Cronulla when the NRLW reduced their starting teams to only 4 from 6. Both clubs have been strong movers for teh formation of a NRL level womens league, and it time right a wrong and bring in the internationally famous Rabbitohs. Our brand and long history in the womens game is something the NRL desperatly need to continue the growth of the womens game.
