Aitken signs for 2025-27
12th August 2024
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have signed experienced second-row forward Euan Aitken until the end of the 2027 season today. Aitken, 29, has played 192 NRL games since making his NRL debut for the Dragons against the Raiders in round three of the 2015 season, scoring 55 tries. Aitken has represented Scotland on five occasions, played one match for Country Origin in 2016 and represented the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII in 2015. Aitken’s versatility will be an asset to the Rabbitohs, having played more than half of his career in the centres, moving into the forwards on a full time basis over the past few seasons. He also holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Wollongong, a Masters of Business Administration specialising in Finance from Victoria University, and is currently studying a Masters in Financial Planning from Victoria University as well.
Rabbitohs Head of Football, Mark Ellison, says he is pleased to be bringing such an experienced player into the Rabbitohs fold. "Euan is a proven performer at NRL level and has also played representative football, all ingredients that will bring experience and ability to our forward pack over the next three seasons. He is uncompromising in defence and can find the try line in attack. We're excited about bringing Euan to our Club for the 2025 pre-season and beyond."
