One time South Sydney premiership winner in 1909. He was a one time premiership winning squad member in 1908, missing the final while he was on the 1908-09 Kangaroo tour. He also played in the 1910 premiership decider for South Sydney.
Anderson a young 20 year old, a lower grade rugby player and junior wrestler, joined the new rugby league in its first year. He made his first grade premiership debut in South Sydney's inaugural Round 1 1908 clash against North Sydney at Birchgrove Oval.
Anderson was a bulldozing speedy winger, who would "bump" defenders heavily while running the ball. He scored South Sydney's first ever premiership try. Then in 1909 he was the South Sydney and NSWRL premiership leading try scorer. In 1909 he also became the South Sydney leading try scorer, a title he would hold until 1911.
Anderson would play 3 seasons with South Sydney. He played 31 first grade games, which included 30 first grade premiership games.
Anderson, made his representative debut in the 3rd Test against New Zealand, where he scored a try. A month later he played his first match for New South Wales, scoring 4 tries on his interstate debut against Queensland. At the end of season he was selected on the 1908-09 Kangaroo tour of England. Anderson who play 12 represntative games while at South Sydney. This included 3 games for New South Wales and 7 games for Australia which included just one international. He also played one game in the Kangaroos versus Wallabies 1909 series.
Anderson played his final first grade premiership game in the 1910 premiership final against Newtown at the RAS Showground.
