Not to be confused with Albert Conlon. Colin is the 1909 South Sydney Premiership winning captain. He won two premierships with South Sydney in 1908 and 1909. He also played in the 1910 premiership final.
Conlin originates from the South Coast of NSW, and made his way to Sydney to play lower grades with South Sydney RU and Redfern RU. He made his first grade premiership debut in the inaugural Round 1 1908 clash against North Sydney at Birchgrove Oval.
Conlin a centre, was considered the best player in the 1908 premiership final. Conlin, in 1909 was the South Sydney and NSWRL leading pointscorer for the season. In 1909 Colin took over as South Sydney's leading first grade premiership career point scorer, a record he would hold until 1912. Colin was also the NSWRL leading career pointscorer between 1910 and 1911.
Colin played 4 seasons with South Sydney. He played 32 first grade games, which included 30 first grade premiership games.
At representative level, Conlin played 13 games between 1908 and 1910 while at South Sydney. He made his representative debut for a Sydney Metropolis team in the 3rd match against the NZ Maori. Colin defied authorities to play in this match, which was arranged to aid the 1908 NZ Maori team to get enough money to head home. He played 7 games for New South Wales, which included games against the Kangaroos, New Zealand and the NZ Maori. He also captained New South Wales on 4 occassions. Colin made his international debut for Australia in the 1909 1st Test against New Zealand at the RAS Showground. He would play 2 internationals for Australia.
He played his final first grade premiership game in the 1911 Round 10 clash against Glebe at the Sports Ground.
