A one time South Sydney Third Grade premiership winner in 1933, who also played in the 1934 South Sydney Reserve Grade premiership winning squad.
Griffiths is a South Sydney junior rep who played in the 1931 U21 Presidents Cup team. He made his South Sydney senior grade debut in 1930 Round 2 Third Grade clash against North Sydney at the Sports Ground. In 1932 he was part of a group of youngsters who got a taste of First Grade in the Short Form Knockout against St George played at the Sports Ground. 1934 saw him step up into Reserve Grade in the Round 1 clash against Newtown at Marrickville Oval. He then made his firat grade debut against Newcastle Division at the Newcastle Showground in the tour match of 1935. It would take until 1936 for Griffiths to finally debut in a first grade premiership match. He debuted against Eastern Suburbs in the Round 1 at the Sports Ground.
Griffiths played 8 seasons with South Sydney. He played 24 first grade games, which included 20 first grade premiership games and one first grade cup game. He played 92 senior grade games for South Sydney, which includes 83 premiership senior grade games and 6 senior grade cup games. Additionally he also played 3 short form games for South Sydney.
He played his final first grade premiership match in the 1937 Round 8 clash against North Sydney at North Sydney Oval.
