Humphreys the grandson of former NSWRL CEO Kevin Humphreys. He was a Balmain ball boy in his youth before leaving for England when his father Stephen Humphries the then Balmain CEO accepted a position a CEO of British Airways in 2014. Jamie played in the London Broncos Academy system as a youth, playing in a U19s squad as a 16 year old. He returned to Australia when his father became CEO of Manly-Warringah in 2019 came through the Manly-Warringah junior system before coming across to South Sydney for a first grade opportunity in the halves. He made his South Sydney first grade cup debut in the 2025 Pre-Season Challenge match against St George-Illawarra at Mudgee Stadium. After a great first up performance and new buy Lewis Dodd being suspended in the pre-season challenge, he made his first grade premiership debut with South Sydney in the 2025 Round 1 clash against the Dolphins at Western Sydney Stadium.
Humphreys is a versitile leftside left foot kicking half who can play hooker or lock with a strong work ethic.
2025 was a breakout year for Humphreys winning the John Sattler South Sydney Rookie of the Year Award.
