Two time premiership winner and Australian representative. James was a Professional sprinter between 1962 and 1969. In 1968 James was key person in formation of the game of Touch Football. He worked with the NSWRLRA to formulate the rules and on Feb 9 1968, arranged the first Touch Football tournament, between the Sydney RL clubs at Redfern Oval where proceeds were donated to charity.
