Landow was a South Sydney junior who also excelled at cricket, representing the NSW schoolboys at cricket. Landow made his senior rugby league grade debut in the Round 14 1935 clash against Balmain at the Sports Ground. In 1936 he made his first grade debut in Round 1 of the new Night Competition against Western Suburbs at the Sports Grounds under lights.
Landow was a fine grade batsman and would spend a number of seasons away from rugby league. He scored 323 with 51 boundaries in 1937 to set Randwick grade cricket batting record. He returned to Rugby League through the South Sydney juniors and City Houses competitions. He finally made his first grade premiership debut in the 1942 Round 2 clash against Western Suburbs at St Luke's Oval.
Landow played for 5 seasons with South Sydney. He played 12 first grade games, which included 8 premiership first grade games and 2 cup first grade game. He played 38 senior grade games, which included 34 senior grade premiership games.
Landow played his final first grade game on the 1943 tour against Tamworth in Tamworth.
