One time South Sydney Reserve Grade premiership winner in 2023, who also won the 2023 NRL Reserve Grade State Championship with South Sydney.
Shaquai came across to South Sydney with younger brother Latrell. In 2018 his weight had ballooned out to 175kg. But he underwent a transformation after joining South Sydney which resulted in his dropping 25kg. He was rewarded for his efforts when he made his South Sydney senior premiership grade debut in the 2021 Round 9 clash against Blacktown at Redfern Oval. The following year in 2022, all of his off season work paid off when he made his NRL and South Sydney first grade premiership debut in the Round 8 clash against Many-Warringah at the Central Coast Stadium.
Mitchell is a strong running prop with good hands after playing five-eighth in his junior days, and is a right footed goal kicker.
Mitchell was rewarded for his efforts when in 2022 he was selected to make his representative debut in the Australian Indigenous All Starsmatch against the New Zealand Maori.
In 2022 Mitchell won the South Sydney Reserve Grade(NSW Cup) player of the year.
