Not to be confused with Ray Moon. One time South Sydney First Grade premiership winner in 1953. He also was a member of the South Sydney premiership winning squads of 1954 and 1955. Moon won the 1956 Reserve Grade premiership with South Sydney. He was also a Third Grade premiership winning squad member in 1952, sitting on the bench for the grand final.
Moon was schooled at George St, Gardeners Rd and Cleveland St. He is a South Sydney junior playing with Alexandria Rovers and played one season of junior reps with South Sydney's 1952 U21 Presidents Cup team. He made his South Sydney senior grade debut in the Third Grade Round 15 1952 clash against Newtown at Redfern Oval. The following year he stepped into Reserve Grade in the Round 4 1953 clash against Manly-Warringah at Redfern Oval. Moon made his first grade club debut in the 1953 Tour match against Riverina at Redfern Oval. In Round 15 1953 he made his first grade premiership debut against Canterbury-Bankstown also at Redfern Oval, scoring a try on debut.
Moon played 6 seasons with South Sydney. He played 22 first grade club games, which includes 19 first grade premiership games. He played 85 senior grade games with South Sydney, which includes 82 senior grade premiership games.
Moon played his last first grade premiership game in the Round 13 1957 clash against Newtown at the Sports Ground. Two weeks later he played his final senior grade premiership game in the Round 15 1957 clash against Manly-Warringah at Redfern Oval.
