Munn was a South Junior who played in the 1934 U21 Presidents Cup team. He quickly moved up, making his senior grade debut with South Sydney Third Grade in the Round 7 1934 clash against Balmain at Drummoyne Oval. Later in 1934 he got a taste of Reserve Grade when he debuted against North Sydney at Chatswood Oval. In 1936 Munn made his first grade debut in Round 1 of the new Night Competition against Western Suburbs at the Sports Ground. Late in the year in Round 12 1936 he made his first grade premiership debut against St George at Earl Park.
Munn played 4 seasons with South Sydney. He played only 3 first grade games, which included 2 first grade premiership and 1 first grade cup game. He played 42 senior grade games for South Sydney, which included 39 senior grade premiership games.
Munn played his final first grade premiership game, only one game after his first grade premiership debut, in Round 13 1936 against Canterbury-Bankstown at Belmore-Campsie Oval. He finished his senior grade career in the 1937 Round 1 Third Grade City Cup clash against University at the Sports Ground.
