Perry was a South Sydney junior who played U21 Presidents Cup in 1929, before he spent a few seasons with Newtown, returning to South Sydney in 1935. He made his senior grade debut in the 1935 Round 1 Reserve Grade clash against University at the Sports Ground. Mid year he made his first grade debut in the Tour match against Newcastle Division at the Newcastle Showground. Soon after in Round 6 1935 he made his first grade premiership debut against Balmain at the Sports Ground.
Perry would play 5 seasons with South Sydney. He played 9 first grade games, which included one first grade premiership game and 7 first grade cup games. He would play 77 senior grade games, which included 68 premiership senior grade games and 8 cup senior grade games.
Perry played his final first grade game in the 1937 Round 9 City Cup clash against Balmain at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
