Robinson is a one time South Sydney U21 President Cup winner in 1960, scoring a try in the final.
Robinson is a South Sydney junior playing for Alexandria Rovers and the Redfern All Blacks before playing in the U21 Presidents Cup team in 1960. He made his South Sydney senior grade club premiership debut in the Round 14 Third Grade clash against Eastern Suburbs at Redfern Oval, scoring a try on debut. The following week in Round 15 he stepped up to make his Reserve Grade debut against St George at Kogarah Jublee Oval again scoring a try on debut. Robinson, made his South Sydney First Grade premiership debut in the Round 1 1961 clash against Eastern Suburbs at the Sydney Sports Ground.
Robinson was a electric winger, with a amazing side step and speed and a great ability to beat cover defenders.
Robinson played 5 seasons with South Sydney. He played 55 first grade club games with South Sydney, which included 42 first grade premiership and 11 first grade cup games. He would go on to play 80 Senior Grade club games for South Sydney, which included 67 senior grade premiership games.
Robinson final first grade premiership game was in the 1964 Round 5 clash against Western Suburbs at Redfern Oval. He would only play a few more games, with his final senior grade club and premiership game for South Sydney in the Round 13 Reserve Grade premiership clash against Newtown at Henson Park.
