Tuohey played in one premiership grand final for South Sydney in 1939. He also played in the State Chmpionship final for South Sydney in 1939.
Tuohey came to Sydney from Werris Creek. He was originally cleared to play and trialled for Canterbury-Bankstown, the NSWRL ruled that he was qualified for South Sydney not Canterbury. Tuohey impressed in the trials and made his senior grade and first grade premiership club debut for South Sydney in the 1938 Round 11 clash against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground.
Tuohey plays wing or centre and is tall, heavy and fast.
Tuohey played 2 seasons with South Sydney in 1938 and 1939. He played all of senior grade football for South Sydney in first grade, playing 24 first grade club games which included 20 first grade premiership games and 3 first grade cup games.
Tuohey played his final first grade and senior grade premiership game in the 1939 First Grade Final against Balmain at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He would play his final first grade and senior grade club game in the 1939 State Championship (Cup-Tie) Final against Canterbury-Bankstown at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Tuohey also played 4 short-form knock out games for South Sydney.
Tuohey would return and trial with South Sydney in 1941 and 1943 and again after the war in 1946 without success.
