Williamson is a South Sydney junior who played with Kensington United, before spending time with Balmain. After a time in the Army in 1941, he was graded in 1942 by South Sydney and made his senior grade club and premiership debut in the 1942 Round 1 Reserve Grade clash against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground. Three weeks later he was called up to make his first grade club and premiership debut in the 1942 Round 4 clash against Canterbury-Bankstown at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Williamson is a centre, who filled in at five-eighth as the clubs 5th fiveighth after a five-eighth injury crisis.
Williamson only played one season with South Sydney in 1942. He played 4 first grade club games for South Sydney, which included 2 first grade premiership games. Overall he played 13 senior grade career club games for South Sydney, which included 12 senior grade premiership career games.
Williamson played his final first grade premiership game for South Sydney in the 1942 Round 6 clash against North Sydney at the Sports Ground.
