Fegan is a South Sydney junior from Mascot. He made his senior grade premiership and club debut for South Sydney in the 1940 Round 6 Third Grade clash against Newtown at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The following week he stepped up into reserve grade in the 1940 Round 7 Reserve Grade clash against North Sydney at the Sports Ground. Two months later he made his first grade premiership debut in the 1940 Round 12 clash against Newtown at the Sports Ground.
Fegan is a no-nonese prop.
In 1942 Fegan was called into active military service and served in Queensland and New Guinea.
