Parker came up through Eastern Suburbs system but could not cement a spot in the first grade team. In 1940 he tried his luck with South Sydney and was graded. He played in the 1940 first grade gala day against Balmain at the Sydney Cricket Ground. But his debut was delayed by injury. In 1940 Round 3 he made his first grade and senior grade debut for South Sydney against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground. This would be his only first grade premiership appearance for South Sydney.
Parker a noted lower grade five-eighth, who captained the South Sydney Third Grade tem in 1940.
Parker only played 1 season with South Sydney in 1940. Overall he played 11 senior grade club and premiership games for South Sydney. Parker would play most of the 1940 season in Third Grade, playing his final senior grade club for South Sydney in the 1940 Round 14 Third Grade clash against North Sydney at North Sydney Oval, before returning to Eastern Suburbs.

After Leaving South Sydney
In 1944 Parker rushed to play in a lower graded semi-final for Eastern Suburbs the day after the birth of his 3rd son. Parker enlisted in the RAAF in late 1942 but was discharged in early 1943.
