The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for round 27 of the 2023 NRL Premiership against the Sydney Roosters to be played this Friday 1 September at 8pm, in their return to Accor Stadium for the first time in eight weeks, in the second leg of the Ron Coote Cup for the 2023 season. Rabbitohs Head Coach Jason Demetriou has named Blake Taaffe at fullback and Izaac Tu'itupou Thompson on the wing, Junior Tatola to start at prop and Michael Chee Kam to start in the second row. Host, Havili, Kennar, Chan-Foon, Bentley-Hape, Subloo are out injured. Burgess and L.Maitchell are out suspended.
The Rabbitohs will be celebrating their past players in what is known as Old Boys Day.
A pre-game video tribute will be played on the big screens, and a minute's silence will be observed, in honour of premiership-winning player, the late Kyle Turner, who passed away earlier this month at the age of just 31.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will take on the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup Grand Final this Sunday 24 September at 3pm at CommBank Stadium, as the Rabbitohs attempt to win the second grade title for the first time in 40 years. The South Sydney Rabbitohs will play the Brisbane Tigers in the NRL State Championship game on NRL Grand Final day, this Sunday 1 October at 1:20pm at Accor Stadium, as the Rabbitohs take aim at their first NRL State Championship title. The Rabbitohs won last Sunday's KOE NSW Cup Grand Final over the North Sydney Bears, 22 points to 18, taking out the Club’s 21st second grade premiership and it's first in 40 years. This victory qualified South Sydney for the State Championship against the QLD Cup winners, the Brisbane Tigers, at the Rabbitohs home ground of Accor Stadium on NRL Grand Final day. This is the first time the Rabbitohs have played in this NRL State Championship game, with the men in red and green having the opportunity to win two titles in seven days.
