Rix is a South Sydney junior who played for Redfern United and was playing for the Second Grade affiliate club Redfern in 1911. He made his first grade premiership debut in the 1911 Playoff match against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground. Rix was a late inclusion in the South Sydney team after Leveson was ruled out.He played for Redfern Second Grade in the prior match on the same day, which was a critical second grade playoff match also.
Rix was an allround sportsman, playing cricket in the summer and rugby league in the winter.
Rix only played one premiership game in first grade for South Sydney in the 1911 season. Rix would then focus on his cricket career.
