One time South Sydney premiership winner in 1909.

Ross is a lower grade rugby union player playing with Alexandria second grade RU with the Butler brothers in 1907. He retired for a year before trying rugby league. He made his first grade premiership debut with South Sydney in the 1909 Round 3 clash against Newtown at the RAS Showground, scoring two tries on debut.

Ross was nicknamed "baby" due to his size. He was a big powerful fellow who played in the centre, who was hard to stop. He developed a cult following in around Alexandria, still being referenced up until the second world war.

Ross only played one season with South Sydney in 1909. He played 5 first grade premiership games.

Ross's final first grade game for South Sydney was in the 1909 Round 8 clash against Eastern Suburbs at the RAS Showground.
