Rabbitohs move into Top 4

It was another strong weekend for the club across the grades with our NRL squad putting in a dominant second half performance to move into the Top 4. The last round we were in the Top 4 was in Round 16 2023. After another scrapped end to the first half, it was good to see the boys pull together and control the game to notch up their 3rd win of the season. The team is steadily improving each week but there is still a lot of combination improvement to still occur. Now its off to Perth for our last home away from home game as we look for our first win at the new stadium, against a Canberra team who were minor premiers last year but are struggling in 2026.

Mitchell double & 200 Career Goals

Latrell Mitchell continues to get used to playing with his star studded left edge, but one thing you cannot deny is his ability to anticpate a try. Two kicks in behind the defensive line and he was able to score two tries. In the game he also kicked his 200th first grade career premiership conversion/penalty goal, the 5th person to do so for the club. As his confidence and firstness improves we will continue to see more of what we know he can do.

Dufty hattrick in Reserves win

Matt Dufty who came back from England to play with South Sydney as a stepping stone back to NRL, is showing what he can do with his blinding speed off the mark. On the weekend his speed out wide as he chimmed into the backline has left the opposition guessing as he scored 3 great tries. He is knocking on door for a NRL return which mustn't be too far away. All NSW Cup players can play NRL after round 11. After some terrible news came out during the week with the passing of Tim Johannsens brother, the team lifted for his return.

Alvarez triple and Jennings double as U19 Claim Minor Premiership

Our U19 finished the season in style as they put away the Balmain Tigers in a 9 try effort that saw them clinch the U19 Minor premiership. Our first junior grade minor premiership since 2013. Taj Alvarez continues to stamp his ability to score tries in our U19 team either through taking on the line or in support play. He notched up a hattrick on the weekend, scoring his 10th in the regular season. Now for the finals.

U17 Whitewash and Top 4 Finish

Our U17 team dominated in their final game of the regular season, with a 9 try effort to secure a 3rd place finish in the regular season. Tarau, Bishop and Bateup scored docubles in the game, as they tuned up for the finals. Good luck to both teams.

Girls season ends with a washout

It was a disappointing end to the season for our girls teams as they both missed out on the finals again this year. The field was waterlogged after recent heavy rains so with no baring on the finals both games were abandoned. Missing thier chance to have a final hit out. In U19 girls, finished in a similar position to last year, with Keilani Manu a second rower or centre was our top try scorer with 3 tries. Kiara McGregor was the top point scorer with 16 points from 8 goals. In U17 girls improved from last year and finished 9th just missing the finals, with Cobi Ryan-Last was our top try and points scorer with 32 points from 7 tries and 2 goals.

Big Improvement across the grades

After a horror 2025 season on the back of a huge injury toll, the experiance by some young player playing up is starting to show in the results of 2025. Round 5 is a good checkpoint on how we are going across the senior and junior grades as it aligns with the end of the junior regular season. In first grade we have seen our NRL squad return to the Top 4 after 5 rounds. Reserve grade sit one point out of the Top 5 up from equal last in 2025. U21s sit in 5th place up from equal last in 2025. Our U19s have won the minor premiership after finishing 3rd last year. And finally our U17s moved into 3rd place after a 7th place finish last year. The hard work over the offseason across mens grade has been paying off. It is great to see the improvements and feel the exitement once again as the junior enter another finals campaign. Well done to all involved.
