Hubner is a Central Queensland junior from Rockhampton, coming through the local Queensland Cup team, he stepped up to play with the Dolphins before coming across to join South Sydney. Hubner made his South Sydney first grade cup debut in the 2025 Pre-Season Challenge match against Manly-Warringah at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford. He then made his first premiership debut with South Sydney in the 2025 Round 1 clash against the Dolphins at Western Sydney Stadium.
Hubner is a workhorse compact lock forward, who is a strong defender.
