New Rivalry Begins
On the weekend we kicked off our 6 game Queensland season in style. But as expected our former coach had a few tricks up his sleave. But once we took control, we once again dominated in our best half of football all year scoring 30 points to run away with the game. Once again our backs tore apart the tiring opposition, as a new rivalry began against the Dolphins. The win has pushed us back into the Top 8. Its now a rematch against the premiers at our home.
Graham another double
Campbell Graham has raced up to the top of the NRL try scoring leaderboard after he scored another two try effort on the weekend. He has scored 8 tries with 5 coming in the last two weekends on the right side as teams focus heavily on our left edge defence.
Skelton opportunityA new face in the trials was Leonard Skelton, who has popped again to make his Reserve Grade debut. I will watch with interest on how he goes now he has a opportunity in the team.
Karapani double
Josiah Karapani has had a task of the higher grades early in the season, but has now settled back into hthe U21s team while he develops. He made the most of his chances scoring tow barnstorming tries, on a difficult road trip to Melbourne.
Women season ends on a low
It was a tough outting to finish the the season, but the year did show encouraging signs before the final two rounds. Top try scorer for the year was Paige Knapp with 7 tries, who also finished as top point scorer with 28 points.
Welcome to Heffron
It was a long time coming but the new Heffron centre is now open for the players and looks a absolute dream. It is a state of the art facility, with training fields, gym, pool, auditorim and looks to be a real asset for years to come. The NRL boys started their training at the new venue during the week as they boys get used to their new long term home.
