2024 - The Cyber View from the Hill

21st August 2024

Missed it by that much

After a poor first half, the team finally starting finding their mojo in the final 30 minutes of the game. Two late tries saw the team within striking distance, and when Moale broke the line to score, everyone though we had pulled off another remarkable win. But alas the final pass was called forward. It was a game of lost opportunities as we bombed three tries, to once again win the second half but lose the match. This week its back home to Accor against the Knights who are desperate for win in their Top 8 quest.

Farewell Kennar

Ritchie Kennar looks to have played his final game for the club on the weekend. A no frills backline player, who tried his heart out, it was sad to see him rubbed out for the rest of the year with a suspension.

Munro double

Tyrone Munro made his long awaited return to football after re-breaking his colar bone on Round 6, it was steady as she goes approach in the reserve grade. But it wasn't long before his blistering speed, saw him cross for two tries on his return. Its still a steady as she goes return, but early signs look good.

Tausala working hard

Palu Tausala continues to work hard up front as he comes on from the bench, this week he cross again for another try. A young U19s prop he is working hard to make it at the next level.

McGregor scores

Another girl who is stepping up int the higher grade is Kiara McGregor. A half who can setup and try and score one, she crossed for another try. Good luck in your senior career.

Hall of Fame Inductees

Well done to our NRL Hall of Fame inductees. Former coaches Wayne Bennett and Jack Gibson were inducted in the first group, as the first non playing coaches were added to the list. Then came the players Sam Burgess, Greg Inglis and Benji Marshall who have all had time at the club, involved in grand final appearances with the Rabbitohs. Then finally two of women players from the mid 1990s Tarsha Gale and Veronica White who won WRL premierships in 1996 and 1997 with the Rabbitohs and represented New South Wales and Australia.
