Fitness and Defence
The off season has seen a focus on improving fitness and defence. It is event in the changing body shapes of the players that basic fitness was a big issue in 2024 and the the new team has focused heavily on getting the player back to peak fitness. Injuries will continue to be concern during the rehab process, as hand inuries are going to limit how much certain players can do in certain areas. The other key area that is being worked in defence. It is difficult to assess how we are improving until the real games begin next week, but a basic improvement in this area will go a long way to improving the teams on field performances. Not long now.
Graham Broken Hand
Just when things were heading in the right direction for Graham, he breaks a bone in his hand at training. Re-injury will continue to a 2025 concern for the injured playing group, and this is a example of what can happen. With the body diverting energy to the major injury other parts of the body can become weaker or suseptable. While this will hamper Graham's upper body muscle recovery, he means his bone structure may still further recovery.
U19's destroy premiers
What a start to the season for our SG Ball team. Again what a start. We were up against the defending winners of last years U19 competition and we blew them off the park. With doubles to Matt Humphries, Tovio, Fong and Jennings. Its been our best season opening since 2012. Really looking forward to seeing these boys in action in 2025.
U17's great season start
Not to be out done our U17 boys also got off to a strong start, on the back of a dominate second half defensive display. A familiar name popped up on the wing Robert Simms as he used his speed to bag a double of tries.. His classy finishes will be work watching in 2025
Unprecented Rabbitoh coverage
I waited a week so I could sit down and review the coverage from our newest streaming service BAR Sports. We now have unprecidented coverage of ALL Rabbitoh games every weekend. Be it NSW Cup, Jersey Flegg in the seniors. And SG Ball, Matts, Womens U19 and U17s in the juniors. Throw in NRL which is on Fox and Queensland competitions on Q-Plus and Auckland RL on youtube. 2025 is a couch potatos feast. I totally enjoyed being able to watch all of the junior games, Rabbitohs live and others on replay. What a expeiance and its only the first week of the season.
