Rabbitohs bounce back into Top 4

A return to Homebush saw South Sydney bounce back. We started well, but then had a period where we let in two tries before we dominated for the rest of the game. 2 few tries with 12 men before halftime setup the win as South Sydney kept the opposition scoreless for the second half. Its now off for our annual clash with Melbourne on ANZAC Day with the Storm. Who are on a 5 game losing streak in 2026, while for South Sydney we are looking to finally break the Melbourne hoodoo.

Mitchell 4 tries

Latrell Mitchell was in beast mode on the weekend. He completely dominated his opposing centre running riot to score 4 tries, 2 where he powered over the top of the opposition. He has scored 7 tries in 3 games and 54 points to race to the top of the point scoring list. His running has been a highlight as he gets used to being one of the greatest centres in the game again. Looking forward to more of the same in the coming weeks.

Mazzone double

South Sydney made it 4 wins on the trot in reserve grade, and as the troops come back the team continues to improve. Mazzone was the benefit this week. He combined well with Seigwalt on the left edge as he scored two tries.

SG Ball win Semi-Final

It was a dominate performance by the U19 SG Ball team, who sharted shakey and then dominated to lead 24 nil at the break. The Tay Alverez show continued with some outstanding work as he scored a try and setup 3 others. Now for their biggest of the season thus far, with a grand final spot on the line for both U19s and U17s this weekend.

No Fault Standdown adjustment is needed

One of the problems with the no fault stand down process is the lengthy court process and what happens when a player is found not guilty. Its important that they club be allowed to replace this Top 30 player during this period. So the best way forward for everyone would be a situation as follows. When the NRL invokes a "no fault stand down", the club effected can nominate a player to replace him in his Top 30 arrangement from within their playing ranks, for the remainder of that players contract arrangement. This can be revised on key dates like June 30, November 1 or March 1. When the stood down player, is then able to return, the nominated player would revert to their prior contract arrangement or a NSW Cup contract arrangement. Interim contract clauses would be needed, but this is the most fair way to everyone.

Ruck defence Tatola/Koloamatangi-Garlick/Mamouzelos-Keppie/Tatola-Smith/Hubner (5-0-1-4) improved to 10 from 11 missed tackles last week.
