Grand Finalists Double Romp
What a great victory, 9 tries against last years premiers, with tries down the right, down the left and up the middle. It was such a dominant performance, that it may have ended the premiers season. What is more remarkable is this victory is on top of our victory against the other grand finalists by the same scoreline. A first ever time a team has been both grand finalists by 42 points. These two were two of our finest victories. The victory was built upon forwards power and ball control. But there is still a long way to go in this season and we only sit in 8th and 2 pts from 3rd, in a dog eat dog fight for the finals. Still 7 more wins to make the finals. Now for another week off to recover from injuries before we start the run home.
AJ Record 4th 4 try hall
AJ the geat continues to score tries, this week he scored 4 tries to equal another Rabbitoh record this time equaling Harold Horder who also scored 4 for more trues 4 times for the Rabbitohs. Overall he is 6th on the all time list of who have scored 4 or more tries in a game, behind Ken Irvine on 7, and Frank Burge, Harold Horder(2 times for North Sydney), Dave Brown who did it 6 times and Steve Renouf who did it 5 times. He has 19 tries for the season and 229 tries overall and counting.
Bentley-Hape double
Bentley-Hape was able to chime in and score two tries, in a tough top 3 clash on the weekend. It was a tough afternoon but one the team will bounce back from as troops return.
Skillington and Lenoy-Sam triple
South Sydney put in a very strong performamce to retain the Manoa Thompson Cup. Our left edge was lethal, with Skillington and Lenoy-Sam both scoring hatricks. The win and the emergance of Issac Fotu-Moala has moved the team up the table and on the end of the finals. Looking forward to the team in the following weeks as they continue to improve.
Yaranauma guides women to victory
A new season and our women also beat last years premiers in a tight and tough battle. Louise Yaranauma who has the ability to setup a try or use his size to break the line and score. She scored the winning try and set the team up for a what should be a strong campaign in 2026.
Emotional Farewell for Arrow
What a emotional night of football. Not a dry eye in the stadium, as everyone felt the emotion of the struggle that now faces Jai Arrow. Every single person hope with all their hearts that he will survive this desease which currently has no cure, and can take lives very rapidly. The way he walked onto field field in a guard of honour to ring the bell and the way everyone celebrated his legacy. The team wearing a special white out jersey in his honour. The team rewarded his honour with one of our greatest victories. The way he led the team song was a sight to see.
